Amit Elor

Can we please clarify and say the best female US wrestler of all time?
Obviously it a bit of an overstatement to say that she is the greatest US wrestler of all time right now. But you can easily say that she has had greatest to start an international career of any male or female wrestler, and is RAPIDLY climbing the ladder.

2019: U17 Bronze (She was 15)
2021: U17 Gold
2022: U20 Gold
2022: U23 Gold
2022: Sr. Gold
2023: U20 Gold
2023: U23 Gold
2023: Sr. Gold
2024: Olympic Gold

If Amit maintains her current trajectory during next quad through LA28, she will be absolutely, 100%, without a doubt be the being the Greatest US Wrestler of All Time, no qualifier needed. She would have matched JBs gold total and done it in consecutive years like JS.

There is a difference between most accomplished/decorated and greatest. The competition/skill level of women’s freestyle is not on par with what John Smith and Jordan Burroughs faced. Many casual MMA fans were arguing Ronda Rousey was one of the greatest fighters while those who know the sport could tell her technique was no where near the best but the skill level of her opponents made her look like it was. Not saying Amit is Ronda because Ronda was being protected and Amit is not. But just like the skill of women’s MMA was not at the level of men’s (still not but the gap is getting smaller) the skill level and level of competition in women’s freestyle is not on the level of men’s. The gap will get smaller, but I don’t think it is close enough to say Amit would be greater than John Smith just because she is more accomplished since the competition is not on the same level.

If she keeps it up or maybe even already now, she is or will be the best US wrestler of all time! Unbelievealbe what she has done already at the age of 20!

I think she's great and am a huge fan but fans are so over the top, just because she is young and did it they think she will never lose again . Before her, Kyle Snyder was the youngest American olympic champion at 20 years old as well, and he hasn't won a gold since (and there's a good chance he never will again, as he will be 32 at the next olympics and he seems to be on the downward slope of his career). It's not easy, countries will be game-planning to beat her for the next 4 years

Sadulaev was starting to be considered an unbeatable GOAT and all of a sudden this young 21 year old Taz went to the Worlds and destroyed him (and Snyder) out of nowhere (and he also just won Olympic Gold)

why clarify? the poster is merely stating that if she keeps this winning pace up she could conceivably be the most decorated US wrestler ever.
I think the difference between best and most decorated is huge.
We had a guy on a high school team I coached who was one tech fall away from the state career record. He was no where near the best kid in the state any of his 4 years in high school, but he almost had a state record. That is the difference between decorated and best - IMHO.

One hell of a resume and is only 20 years old. She keeps it up, she is in the conversation of being the best. Has anyone else ever won three World Championships in the same year? Will not even mention she has done it twice.

Adding al little common sense to the discussion - If a preson winds the world title, it should go without saying they would win the U20 and U 23 world tournament. Most people just stop at winning the big one.
I am not saying she isn't having a great career, but doing something no one else did is great. However, if it is something that many could've done but they did not see the purpose in doing it - that takes the shine off of it. IMHO
