A Paean (Of Sorts) To The Memory Of Christopher Hitchens

By rejecting the $100 in the first place, and utilizing its own policy. By using its own scrip. By settling on gold or some other entity as the medium of exchange rather than government fiat currency. There is nothing requiring the private sector to use fiat currency except the threat of, or use of, violence against those who defy.
Are you intentionally being obtuse?

I can see where this is headed so I won't waste any more of my time on your infantile passive aggressive bullshit.

No, no intention to be obtuse. My mother-in-law used to have a sign in her office that said “But we’ve always done it this way!” It’s hard for a society to have progress if some people don’t think out of the box.

I don’t think it is obtuse to question if MMT is at least partly responsible for today’s inflation. And more importantly how it will be used to end it.

It is my understanding that the MMT “cure” is to raise taxes to curb demand. I find it hard to believe a Congressperson would raise taxes on the working class in times of inflation. First the inflation has made paychecks run out of money quicker, and now the plan is to extract more from the paycheck via taxes? That strikes me as a career suicide move by any politician that would vote for that. So I think it is a legitimate question to raise. I thought we were having a relatively polite conversation. I regret you feel otherwise.

Wow, Dan. Just because that might be the first time you you've understood,l doesn't mean what pilt has posted before was "the first intelligent he's said about the subject." That's bush league on your part.
The word I used was intelligible, not intelligent. I don’t question Pilt’s intelligence, never have.
