The 1990's article seemed to miss a few important things. One it missed the fact that Alan Fried was a national champion and that he stuck around losing one year of eligibility (that most likely would have been a national championship) had he transferred. Also the elephant in the room the probation and being barred from competing in the 1993 NCAA championships.
