While both parties have deep pocketed donors for election cycle influence, what strikes me here is why would anyone in CA donate $627K to a senate race in MO, except to keep it blue/D. They don’t care about the state of Missouri per say, they just want it blue.

The clown running against Cruz got something like $38 Million in the last quarter and he is still going to lose badly.

Sad the sea of that is inherent with political races.

They need to outlaw TV advertising for candidates. Force them to spend money on flyers and direct mail. Yep, it will fill your mailboxes with more trash but might offset loses to the Postal Service. I heard yesterday the price of a stamp is going to 55 cents.

I've always favored the British system of campaign rules. Limited amount of money to spend which forces candidates to go door to door. Might be the reason there are 650 members of House of Commons.
