T4 was a new career high finish for Ventura! It was his first Top 5 & third Top 10 (previously had a T6 & T7 in 2020).
It was also the second time Stevens has finished solo 2nd (2023 Texas Open), but this was a stronger field & his largest OWGR points haul of his career.
Crazy to think either of those guys could have won this week & been the 4th TOUR winner from the 2018 OSU team after Wolff, Hovland & Eckroat…
Not sure if there’s ever been a single college golf team with 5 different guys with top 5 finishes on TOUR. Also crazy that Stevens didn’t even play in the final that year (5th spot was Bauchou).

The final field for the Pebble Beach Pro-Am is out! Second signature event of the year. Limited field of 80. Stevens into the field via the Aon Swing 5 after his 2nd place at the Farmers.
Rickie also in on a sponsors exemption, which I would expect for every signature event this season until/unless he qualifies for them via a normal route.

Tom Kim was in peak Presidents Cup form draining clutch putt after clutch putt & constantly egging in the crowd.

No he isn't. Playing better right now? Probably. Better player? Not close. 10 wins vs 0 wins. People love to jump to conclusions. Proud of guys like Sam and Ventura, but better player than Fowler?
Rickie’s played great golf since taking time off for baby #2 after The Open. He’s averaging 1.7 strokes gained per round over the 16 rounds since he returned in the fall.
If he keeps playing that way, he should be in contention plenty of times this season & shouldn’t have trouble playing his way into the majors.

I’m not sure how much longer his deal with them lasts, but it can’t end soon enough. Either that or SD needs to start designing some better clothes.
Also: how has Rickie not gotten together with all of the other OSU alums on Tour to get everyone to wear orange on Sundays?!
There are so many great OSU golfers & he’s the only one that manages to get free publicity for the university every time he’s on camera on a Sunday.

I'm sure people will immediately speculate LIV, but I would say it's more likely he just wants the week to work on things to get his game in the right place with another signature event (Genesis Invitational) coming next week.

Who's heading to PHX for the party? I've always wanted to attend this one... and got the call a few weeks ago with an invite from a partner company. Suite on 16! I'll feel like southern on just an average day of his life
Thunderbirds will be tightening the screws on 16 this year after the issues last few years. Will be interesting to see how far they take things with liquor and beer control.
It is alcohol on steroids and most on 16 are there for the party, not golf. You go once (and make it Saturday) and you are good to go. It is an experience, not saying a good one.
The WM and not so much anymore, The Byron Nelson, have been the best tournaments for people watching by far.
My party days are mostly behind me... but I have always wanted to attend WMO. I'm actually on there for the wednesday pro-am round... and playing a round tomorrow afternoon. No idea where, I suck, I'm just along for the ride.
Those are so fun but the sponsors always get the best players but just meeting a pro golfer for 9 holes and hearing their story how they got to the Tour is always awesome to hear. The best pro that you may get at the moment is Tom Kim, dude is hilarious, the big guns you better know their agent or sponsor to play with them in a pro-am or give a golfer’s foundation a nice check.

Nothing like Porta Pottys running over on the floor. Needing to improve lies because of a mound of puke in the rough. How about some incredibly beautiful girl passed out with her head resting on the rim of a sandtrap. There are more groupees standing at the ropes than what shows up at a dance off involving the Chippendales. Amazing how some of the gals parade in outfits and shoes that are discounted in the Fredericks of Hollywood catelog.
Keep wondering when Rickie and others start wearing golf attire from the Happy Gilmore collection. Ever see a woman dressed in bib overalls with no bra and the sides of the overalls unbuttoned down to her love handles? I thought that kind of attire only graced NASCAR venues. No, that was worn by a gal standing in front of me at a beer booth three years ago.
