CHAPEL HILL --- North Carolina's home duals against Oklahoma State and The Citadel on Feb. 22 will be contested at Eddie Smith Field House in order to accomodate the public memorial service for Coach Dean Smith. The two duals were originally scheduled at the Smith Center due to Carmichael Arena hosting the 2015 ACC Fencing Championships.
Coleman Scott, a four-time All-America performer at Oklahoma State and the 2008 NCAA champion at 133 pounds, was named an assistant coach with the North Carolina wrestling program in May. Scott, who has also excelled at the international level as a four-time member of the United States National Team and a 2012 Olympic bronze medalist in freestyle at 60 kg, is involved in all aspects of training and skill instruction for the Tar Heels.
"We are very excited to have Coleman Scott join our Tar Heel family," head coach C.D. Mock said. "Coming from one of the most successful wrestling programs in the history of the sport, his knowledge and experience as a competitor and a coach will add immeasurably to the existing staff and team."
Scott will work directly with the light and light/middle weights on technique and training for Carolina after wrapping up competition for the summer in July.
Prior to starring at Oklahoma State, Scott was a three-time Pennsylvania state champion at Waynesburg Central High School. Scott and his wife Jessica have two children: daughter Leighton Ann and son Stetson Lewis.
Neil Erisman, a 2011 graduate of Oklahoma State University, joined the Carolina coaching staff in October. A four-year starter at 157 pounds for the Cowboys, Erisman comes to UNC after two seasons of coaching at his alma mater and one at Stillwater High School in Oklahoma.
A native of De Soto, Kansas, Erisman was a state champion at De Soto High School before competing at the collegiate level at Oklahoma State. He was a team captain at OSU and a three-time NCAA qualifier at 157 pounds who won the Big 12 title as a senior in 2011.
Erisman and his wife Kelli have two children: son Duke and daughter Oakley.
