“Look at the way I’ve been treated lately...

Hmm

I don't disagree that coverage of Trump's presidency has been overly negative. But, why do you think that is the case?

I think it is pretty simple really. He is not a likable individual.

-He is a bully.
-He treats people disrespectfully and never apologizes for anything.
-He acts very childish on a regular basis (like a high school girl)
-When someone stands up to him, he either gets personal with them, or cries about how badly he is being treated.
-That is just the tip of the iceberg, but it is enough.

His supporters love those things about him. They think that he is his own man and is not like other two timing politicians who talk out of both sides of their mouth. I get it.

But, IMO, if you are going to be a tough asshole leader, then you better show that you are really good at what you do, or everyone will turn against you pretty quickly. It worked for him in the business world. He was a tough asshole with a take-no-prisoners personality. But, he was a proven success, and had the respect of those he dealt with. Now, he is a novice politician who can't get out of his own way. If he wanted to be treated better, then he should have acknowledged that and come in with more of an attitude that he is a bit out of his element and was willing to listen and learn until he had a better understanding of the details surrounding his new position. Obviously, that is not in his nature.

His supporters can't have their cake and eat it too. You can't love him because he is a tough SOB, who won't take shit from anyone, and then cry because everyone is so mean to him. This isn't about some kind of left wing conspiracy to prevent him from being successful. This is all about his personality, the way he treats others and how he responds to criticism.

I don't disagree that he brings some of it on himself. But if you are going to sit here and honestly claim that bias and butthurt in the press over their candidate losing has nothing to do with it I honestly don't know what to tell you.

Hillary is one of least likable candidates the Dems have ever thrown up there. Don't act like she would be receiving this type of treatment had she won. Personality is not 100% of the blame, not even close. It is merely a factor.

This is exactly how this thread has went down.

Trump says he's been treated much differently (worse) by the press than past presidents.

The never Trumpers jump in here making fun of his statement hoo hoo ha ha

A study is released showing he's right.

The never Trumpers jump in with confirmation bias trying to confirm in their own minds that the bias doesn't exist and that they haven't completely fallen for it hook, line, and sinker.

And let's also avoid the fact that Fox appears to be the most fair and balanced regardless of president. The cognitive dissonance that would occur with that conversation would be so extreme the depths of spin would make us all dizzy.

Well, he treats everyone like shit, so it is funny that he dishes it out constantly then whines about being on the receiving end.

I am agreeing with you on this. He is being lambasted daily. I'm telling you why I think that is.

I don't agree with this much at all. Maybe a little. Hillary is a long time politician who knows how to play the game and makes an effort to do so. She would have been treated much better, for sure. But, Trump started scorching the earth early on in his campaign, and doubled down from there. Had he started the job and changed his tune, I think they would have given him a fair shake. But, it is not in his nature and never will be. Obviously, it doesn't help that he makes mistakes due to not having experience in politics, and not slowing down to listen to those who do.

This is 100% correct.

And is completely parallel and unrelated tonTrump's own abbrsisiveness. The goal to undermine him and delegitimize him was plainly stated by DNC leadership and Never Trump Republicans - globalists, of which for the most part, the DC press is a propaganda arm.

It couldn't possibly be also that he's constantly on the defensive. You see, I believe he could handle things better. I don't believe for one second that him doing so would make a damn or create fair treatment.

Again, perhaps his scorched earth approach has a been a reaction from the treatment he's received from the get-go. From the moment he first announced he's been treated as a clown, shit talked, and habitually taken out of context.

There's plenty of blame to go around and the media has shown their bias. There's no doubt where the fake news comes from within the MSM.

Fair point. Although, it is not like he was a complete unknown when he announced. He built that (clown) image for himself over the last 2+ decades with his bullying ways and antics.

At this point, it is really a chicken/egg thing. I just don't buy the narrative that this is a liberal conspiracy. Had Kasich been the Republican nominee, and won the election, I think he would be treated fairly and respectfully.

I do agree that the MSM is overwhelmingly liberal, and that is always going to result in a liberal slant. And, I can empathize with conservatives and why it drives them crazy. I just think it is much more apparent due to Trump being what he is.

To be fair though, Kasich is also an establishment guy. Which is something the media favors. They love the status quo.

I think a better barometer for conjecture would be a Rand Paul or Ted Cruz. I believe Cruz would also face the same extreme bias and hate as Trump.

Rand on the other hand may actually receive better treatment. Somewhere between an establishment crony like Kasich and a Trump or Cruz. The reason I say that is because I think most people see Rand as a geniuinely nice guy with good intentions even though they may disagree with him. Maybe my perception of his perception among others is off base there.

I agree with you on all points except for lyin' Ted.

I'm not a Cruz fan because of his politics and because he seems slimy to me. But, he knows how to play the game and would be treated much better than DJT has been.

I agree with you on Rand. His personality would buy him a lot of latitude.
