We don't run dog on this property due to the elk. I set a trap this week and we are seting up 16 hog snares today. I killed one hog this week but as you can tell we are a little over run. each year about this time we have to kill 20-30 pigs and then we don't see much of a problem till after winter. went out to check the traps and shot this guy just before dark.

You might try a "pen" trap? It is easy to build and works pretty well!

Basicly build a fence form hogwire as big as you want and create a trap door to allow an entrance...bait it with a corn/diesel or a sweet feed/beer/jello. Drive up and do what you want with them? Depending on the distance, I would drive to come gather them up!

Great pics 74! That your son on the 4 wheeler? I shot a coyote off my porch at 5:50 pm on Weds. who was mangey and very bold up close to the house. The way he acted I was a little fearful of rabies so I took him out. (grabbed an old 30-30 Winchester that hadn't been shot in 20 years and it was dead on at 75 yard!

yes thats my son. he is 5 and is starting to really get the hunting bug.

Here are the gps coordinates for 74s favorite stand!. 34.23.31... oh wait.

This lucky gent has a lease just outside of the National Wichita Mnt wildlife refuge! Some elk have escaped over the years and are now in (barely) huntable numbers. Pretty sweet deal and I love seeing his pics from that place.

Here are a couple of bucks from my trail camera's in western Ok, trouble is they are probably miles away by now!

Sent 5 different buck pictures to jeff to post when he has a chance, possibly I could then get an age and score estimate from some of you. I have a guess but have a tendency to go high. All were from pictures in September.

Hopefully I will be able to tell you after the season is over if he is not miles away!

81, You have some fine looking deer there! But they all look a just little young to me from the pics. That last deer is very nice right now (and I would be hard pressed to pass on him, esp with a bow) but if you had enough land to protect him, he will be absolutely great in another two years. I don't think he's over 4.5, and could be 3.5 Iyrs old/ Imagin that rack with heavier mass and longer tines.... wow.

I'm on 80 acres and have hunters all around, I doubt he would make it another year. If I was hunting a ranch things would be different and I would back off of them. Bow hunting this weekend and next, would probably take him or the other large 10 pt if the chance comes up. My guess is they are miles away by now.
