Lot's of discussion brought up with this season's 3-way try-out between rSoph Gunnar, rFresh Rangel, and 6th year/3rd school Bowman.
When our 4 year QB1 gets injured we find ourselves with two G5 level backups: true Fresman Rangel, rFreshman Gunnar.
How should we rank need for fixes of QB evaluation, recruiting, development, play calling, inspiration, culture, etc to keep from becoming "victims of circumstance" moving forward?
Gunnar was a highly successful HS state championship caliber QB.
Rangel same in Dallas 5a ball with lofty 3 and 4 star ratings.
Illingworth was a 3 / 4 star HS QB that transfered out.
Sanders was a 3 / 4 star, that many (myself included) didn't think progressed as much as we thought you would normally see
How are programs like Iowa State seemingly able to take middle of the road 3 star HS freshman and have them land in Des Moines as top half of Big 12 QB's?
