We weren’t prepared for the portal last year.. got depleted in depth and talent. Our program and coaches rallied to fill holes the best we can and got some nice players like Leon, Goodlow, etc.
This team was 2-2 in September… not many including myself thought we’d make a bowl. I was struggling to see us winning 2 more games. The turnaround has been remarkable.. coaches and players deserve a ton of credit.
We rallied behind some coaching adjustments and incredible player leadership.
We won the last bedlam and hearing OU cry about that last call will always be awesome.
With that said, we need to improve in many areas to return here next year and win it.
We need talent infusion at several positions and I think we are much more prepared for the portal this year starting with Gundy’s messaging and Pokes with a Purpose having a year plus under its belt.
The finish wasn’t what any of us wanted but we had several players continue to play hard that I hope we see return next week.. Leon, BP, Nick Martin, etc.
