was in the left seat of that jet that crashed in St. Louis and the owner was sitting in the right seat giving instructions. Horrible decision by the owner. I think Davis had a lot of time but all in piston aircraft. Davis tried to land the aircraft but was too hot and had to go around...this may have happened twice. Then, at some point after the missed landing, he took the throttles and went backwards over the stops and cut off both engines. This is not a tough aircraft to fly but way more aircraft than he had any idea of. The lawsuits are going to be huge because technically you have to be typed in the aircraft to be in the left seat...he wasn't anywhere close to be being a typed pilot in that aircraft. To get typed, you go through 2 weeks of school and then take a check ride. Davis had 1 hour of experience and was basically a passenger at the controls.
