So the criminals that are responsible for the overwhelming majority of gun related injury and death are going to get liability insurance for their illegally obtained firearm to avoid a monetary penalty? Yep. That seems very logical. The gun laws in place to keep criminals from possessing firearms work so well.
Requiring liability insurance for drivers has reduced traffic fatalities? Fire everybody in the auto industry now for wasting incredible amounts of resources engineering safety devices and designs to reduce injury and death from car crashes. From now on I'm going to tell people who have been injured in a car crash they should have had better liability insurance.
