Especially those stupid forums like diehard poke fans and Oklahoma State football, etc...on Facebook. Those fans have little knowledge and for the most part are idiots. This board implodes quickly, and then falls back in love just as quick, but much more football knowledge here.

Starting the year we liked a lot about the team. Worried about back 7 being young and a patch work offensive line. Other than that we felt we could contend with the best in the league....depending on the usual circumstances, ie: injuries, depth, QB play, etc..

CMU 58-44
ASU 34-17
UAPB 63-7
@BU 36-25
TT 41-31
@TCU 40-43 2OT
UT 41-34
Total destruction

Obviously those first three teams we played were not very good. ASU beat a top 10 Washington, and had some close games later in season, but was not the test we had hoped for when scheduling a P5 non con game. Still we did what needed to be done.
Baylor, we went in with some injuries, but had the bye week to get some ready to play. Played pretty well. Defense had a bad third quarter but held steady late. Our tremendous special teams play continued, and we did enough running and throwing to win.
TCU was gonna be tough but we all felt they were lucky to be where they were. OSU led by 14 going into the 4th. We had not played that well, but still had held a comfortable lead for three quarters. Defense gave up yards but stood strong on 3rd and 4th down. Sanders didn’t throw for even 50%, but ran the ball well. Our special teams were solid again, yet we wore out...injuries hurt us....game got tied, and our coaching staff should have gone for the win.
Still, even with a bunch of mistakes on both sides of the ball, injuries to key players, etc....we had that game. TCU playing Saturday in the final 4. We had that game.
We come home beat up playing freshman all over the place and quite frankly not expecting but more of hoping we could beat texass. This time Sanders has a great 4th quarter, throws for nearly 400 yards to a bunch of kids, defense gives up a bunch of rushing yards, but when it comes to 3rd and 4th down stuffs the horns for most part. Win turnover battle and win the game in exciting fashion.

This team has overcome more injuries to starters than we can ever remember. As fans we feel like we are not deep enough to continue this, but hey this team has great leadership, culture, and continues to make the plays when needed. All that seems to stand in the way of us playing in the Big 12 Championship is a tough road win at KSU, but with a pretty beat up team. Still everything continues to point towards we do what it takes to win....and sometimes that includes smoke and mirrors.

How do you even discuss what happens from KSU on? What on God’s green earth took us from a tough, hard nosed, beat up football team that averaged 45 points per game in those first 7 games to 16 points per game in final 5?

I’ve obviously brought up injuries throughout this discussion of the season. I personally believe it was the worst I can remember for total number of starters out. Our depth just wasn’t there, yet was that it? Those last 5 teams were not a tough stretch....KSU was good, but we had played the top half of the league already......what happened to us?

Bad coaching and injuries? Really guys. We were our usual solid team. After the Texas win, we were sitting pretty.

Everything points to injuries and lack of quality depth. Are those the two reasons we saw the worst 5 game stretch in say last 10 years?

I’d really like to see what we all think here. Was it just bad coaching that caught up to us? Is there a cancer on this team we hadn’t noticed and what is it?

Such a strange year for OSU.
