It was ugly and most of this teams warts and weaknesses were shown today against a bad team but like they have done a bunch this season, they found a way to win. They made some defensive adjustments and Ollie finally got warmed up.
Winning a game like that can actually do more for a team than a home blowout before a pivotal type game.
It was one of the more crazy seasons in memory with a final bedlam win an improbable 9-3 CCG appearance complete with a final and historic bedlam win and two of the worst losses in Mikes career. A real head scratcher but not one to make any excuses for especially to those loser sooner fans.
This all sets up for maybe the biggest game in Mikes career. A win gets a major monkey off his back, removes the asterisk off his very strong resume and sets the realistic expectation and talking point of OSU leading the new Big 12.
A loss moves the talking point to a 4 loss season with two historic in season losses and adds more fuel and legitimacy to the thought that Mike just can’t get this program over the line.
Big game next week in Arlington but thankful we are getting to play in a game that means something. Could go a long way into our portal fortune over the next month. Go pokes!
