I’m getting ready to play in the 21st annual Red River Rider Cup (this will be my 10th). It’s held every year (save 4 or 5) at Dornick Hills in Ardmore. 60 two man teams from Texas and 60 from OK. 1 nine 2-man scramble, 1 nine alternating shot, 1 nine best ball, 1 nine individual match. Fully handicapped. Complete with each team with team uniforms each day. And the sh^t talking is EPIC.
for the most part it is old farts with handicaps between 4-18, sprinkled in with ringer flat belly scratch golfers. Lifetime OK barely leads.
I only mention it as this event is one of the funnest things I’ve ever been involved with, win or lose.
as the Oklahoma team is aging, there will be a need in the future to invigorate for the future. 😎
