I'm not commenting on Trump's guilt or innocence, my problem is with the trial and the procedures. One side was given unlimited latitude on presenting their evidence and the other side was restricted to a narrow scope of allowable entries into court. In recent years, judges in political trials in DC and NYC courts have used the tactic of restricting allowable evidence for the defense and the verdict is basically set before the trial begins.

You would also know that two other women testified he’d done the same thing to them. You’d also know that nearly two dozen other women have said he did the same thing to them. You’d also know he bragged about how he could get away with it because he’s a celebrity. The man was a sexual predator and he does not deserve to hold the highest, most prestigious, most honored position in the land. Aren’t you a lawyer by trade? Isn’t is fairly common practice in a civil suit to shoot for the stars knowing you’re not going to win it all? Besides, she felt violated as if she’d been raped. In court her belief she’d been raped didn’t meet the legal standard. She didn’t lie. Plus, if the jury was as biased as Trump’s facilitators say, it may very well have ignored the wording of the law and convicted anyway. So maybe it wasn’t as biased as Trump loyalists have convinced themselves it was.

Did he? Are you 100% certain? Even the article you posted said "Probably". Let's not ignore the evidence that was allowed and wasn't allowed in this case about the woman, the financial backer and the fact New York changed the laws so they could even bring the case in the first place. I see it as a Pavlovian conditioned response by people who have been convinced Trump is a victim, always the victim no matter the circumstances, he’s a victim and by God that’s all there is to it. It’s a free country. Trump supporters are going to think what they think. From my perspective the appropriate attitude is to realize he has been a sexual predator through much of his adult life and therefore he is unacceptable as a leader of the country. For years people on this board have claimed they are not necessarily Trump supporters, what they support is the MAGA philosophy. There are countless other people that would adopt MAGA policies - hell, Ramaswamy is probably more MAGA than Trump is. So knowing the depravity that has been part of Trump’s life it seems to me that those people would turn away from him and latch onto someone better suited to carry the torch. The fact that so many of them refuse to even criticize his depravity, even refuse to acknowledge he has been depraved, heap scorn on the victim of his depravity instead, suggests to me they don’t care what kind of man he is, they will follow his lead wherever he wants to take them. No one is suggesting you vote for a Democrat. As far as I know there are no MAGA Democrats. But there a lots of MAGA Republicans, DeSantis and Ramaswamy come to mind. Trump is not your only option if you want MAGA-style government.
