Had my first real chance to watch the team practice yesterday, and I have a few things I want to address.
- Ogbah looks every bit the part of being one of the best DE's in the Big 12. Very quick on both inside rushing and edge speed.
- Washington and Lacy seemed to have the "stone hands" early in the scrimmage, both dropping a couple routine passes. Washington did however make a great adjustment to a pass thrown wide and make a really nice grab. He's special.
-Rudolph obviously has gotten bigger, but also is moving very well. He's putting in work, and it shows. Throws were really good for the most part. A couple times he made good decisions to throw it away when he had nothing.
-Walsh was off in his throwing today, but he ran really well while operating with the "2's". Had a 30-40 yard "TD" run, and the speed and cuts looked pretty good. Very interested to see what Gundy has in mind for him.
-Jarwin had a nice day. He made a few nice catches, ran tough after catches and his blocking was really improved.
-Salako, who came in from UAB, is a huge human being. Massive. He is quick for that size and has very good feet. Positioning looked solid. I imagine Rudolph loves having him at LT.
New coaches are impressive. Great attitudes and effort to get in the players faces and coach. The staff seems very excited about this team and it's potential.
