Well, this is the debut of World Champion Kyle Snyder. With one match under his belt at 285, he comes in at #3, which boosts Ohio State to the #2 spot in the team rankings.

As always, if these team rankings don't look correct, it may have to do with the incorrect starters being set for a particular team. Last week there was a team sitting near last place because only half of the regular starters were set. If you see any wrestlers that SHOULD be starters, go ahead and update their starter status.

Now that we have a lot more data, how do you feel these computer rankings are doing?

Also, I did a quick re-design of the homepage last night. You can now select teams rosters, eligibility breakdowns, depth charts, and schedules directly from the homepage, do you like the new look?

Excuse my OU homerism, but...

You have Cody Brewer ranked 7th. He's the returning National Champion, with only two losses, one of them to Kaid Brock who is ranked ahead of him (arguably justifiable) but who is also out for the year from a knee injury.

The only other loss is to Nashon Garrett, the #1 kid at that weight. Cody's also beaten the #1 kid at 141 in Dean Heil.

So he's basically punished for losing to a kid with three collegiate matches under his belt, a kid we all believe was going to be a great one for OSU even this year, but still didn't have a chance to prove himself. Unlike a Cody Brewer who has lost only three times in two years, and has proven himself by beating the #'s 1, 3, and 4 seeds at last year's NCAA tournament.

Even if you go only by this year's records, he's only lost to one guy who's still wrestling.

The knock on last year's seeding him at #13 was because he didn't wrestle enough matches to be ranked higher. Is this the case with Cody this year in your ranking? Or do you just see six kids who are better than him, even though one of those six is out for the season?

The rankings are generated by a computer algorithm. Brewer had the highest preseason ranking coming into this season, which is used as the baseline for every weeks rankings. Even though Brock is out, he still wrestled matches and therefore gets a ranking, which in turn affects Breeers ranking.
