These are people that do not need liberal whites telling them how to think or how they should live.

Which is why I try never to refer to leftists as liberals.
Progressive is to liberal just as climate change is to global warming.
I’m not that sure that it’s changed a lot but the Overton window has sure redefined me. I used to be considered a free speech liberal by many. Over time I was seen as a libertarian. Now on this board I’m neatly categorized as a “conservative” which I do not consider myself to be. I voted for bill Clinton and damn near voted for Obama the first time.
As I’ve gotten older, economic issues are now as important to me as my social “live and let live” philosophy which may have moved me slightly right in that regard.
At the end of the day though, I’m personally a constitutionalist. Always have been. The fact that that is now seen as the same thing as being a conservative says a lot more about the leftists and their agenda than it does about how I’ve changed politically.
