Looks like they were voluntarily doing it. They didn't have to do anything. I must admit, though, it was a guilty pleasure seeing people who are most likely to the left of me (even in South Dakota) scamper for dollar bills like mullets in a school of minnows.

Yeah, I'm sure that cash scramble is all the funding the teachers will get for classroom supplies. Good catch.

Maybe they can get summer jobs while they are off and work a full 12 months like the rest of us?
That would help their class rooms with lots of supplies.
Or maybe stop spending it on Rainbow Flags like the tard teacher in Commiefornia.
Or just call Joe and get some of that "Build Back Better Money."
Surely they didn't leave the kids out of that Spendapalooza.

Should definitely be run by Baltimore public schools.

Maybe the public school system should stop spending their money on CRT, Climate Change and Social Justice Warrior training for teachers, instead spending it on classroom supplies.

I’m sure there is more to the event, and I admittedly haven’t dug into this one very deeply. Seems like the kind of thing that might have a charitable component that makes this not-so-demeaning.

However, I can say if this is the respect I was given to secure my budgets, I’d at best quit and at worst be rearranging someone’s grill.

What a shameful game and a pitiful indictment on how our educators and educational system are treated in this country.

At least the hockey team and mortgage lender who was behind this have apologized. Whoever came up with this idea should be fired, and his/her yearly salary should be donated to the local school district.

We'll call you a wahhhhmbulance, toon. Stop being such a little bitch. The teachers willingly did the event. Unless you present evidence that they were forced against their will, you're just full of shit as usual.

I'm not surprised they did the event. That is how desperate they are for money.

So once again, it was a shameful game and a pitiful indictment on how our educators and educational system are treated in this country.

You're breathtakingly stupid. None of those teachers acted out of desperation. Outside of listening to Maddow screeching, have you actually looked into it?

Sure they did. Some wanted iPads for their classrooms. Or new equipment. Or an Esports team program. Some wanted money for decorations. Flexible seating, standing desks, etc. If they were provided all of this through regular funding, they wouldn't have to go to a hockey game and stuff money down their clothes.

South Dakota's teachers are among the lowest paid teachers in the country. South Dakota also ranks low on per-student spending.

And this comment illustrates well how little some know about education and learning, especially in 2022.

It also is part of the reason why our educators and educational system don't receive the amount of funding they truly need. Education should be seen as the MOST important thing we do as a country. Which means everything I mentioned would be absolutely needed for learning.

But we live in a country that places almost everything else ahead of education. Heck, even sports (games) are valued more in this country than education! Just look at all the money wrapped up in sports. And imagine for a second if all that money was wrapped up in education instead. What a different society we would have!

there is plenty of money to educate every student in this country. The problem is shitty blue cities run by liberals and terrible teacher unions with segregated neighborhoods, resource allocation based on the local tax base and crumbling infrastructure. Rich kids are thriving in private schools and often poor kids only way into a private school is through…sports.

Guess who got left behind during covid? The students in districts where the teachers wouldn’t go back to work using strong unions to fight for them. Guess where they generally were? Large inner cities. Guess what group that has a disproportionate effect on? Minorities.
