interesting. Played at Stillwater HS and got offers from UTSA and Akron. Had some interest from the likes of SMU, Memphis, Houston, North Texas. Gundy quoted again from the press conference on Monday. This is Thursday so it's old news but regurgitated here:
COACHES STILL EVALUATING O-LINE
Following Oklahoma State’s 32-8 home-opening victory Saturday night against Central Arkansas, coach Mike Gundy evaluated issues related to run blocking.
OSU has averaged 4.53 yards per rush over its first two games — ranking No. 70 in the country.
“I don’t think a personnel move is really where we’re at,” Gundy said. “Teams that have played us have defended us so we can’t run the football.”
Gundy says that’s given OSU two options: throw the football more or physically dominate your opponent up front no matter the defensive scheme, to which Gundy said, “We’re not in a position to do that right now.”
However, should the Cowboys look to rotate in new looks up front, they have a suitable option in sophomore Jesse Robinson. He started at right guard in wins against Oklahoma and Washington last season.
“Jesse’s doing well, and right now we feel like Paul (Lewis) is performing better than he is,” Gundy said, “but it’s not ever a situation where we couldn’t roll somebody in and take a shot at it.”
Said offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich: “Competition and personnel is constantly being evaluated. We’re always trying to push one another from that stand point. Every practice is evaluated. We are going to continue to do that throughout this week and throughout the game and we will see where we are at.”
