While I almost totally disagree with his comments regarding trade I totally agree with his insistence that our allies pony up for mutual defense.

I think he is right that Trump will win reelection. The only Democrat I saw that might have given him trouble was Kamala Harris, but in my mind she has shot herself in the foot so many times she has practically eliminated herself as a viable candidate (sorry, 2 cents, I know you adore the woman).

Lastly I appreciate his biographical information at the end of the piece. It is always good to know a little about the person offering the opinion.

There are many Democrats who could easily defeat Trump in 2020 if things continue as they are. Harris is definitely still one of them

The question isn't who can beat Trump (essentially any Democrat with a pulse haha), the question is who will win the Democratic nomination in a crowded field. I still believe Harris has the best shot, followed by Biden and Sanders. It is going to be a very interesting Democratic primary though, especially if Beto and some others jump in. Don't sleep on a dark horse emerging.

The most promising dark horse is Tulsi Gabbard! I’d vote for Tulsi over Trump, if I voted. Hell, if Tulsi gets it I may have to register.

Harris is in the mix but I wouldn't say many have a chance to beat Trump.

Biden has the best shot and with a smart selection for a running mate the Dems could be onto something. But will they go older white guy and ignore the identity politics game? Doubtful IMO.

There are not many who will seriously challenge, and I agree that Harris has critically damaged herself with middle America. They won't currently see her as someone that cares about them.

Tulsi is likeable, tough, and a woman with experience in the armed forces. She's 10x the VP candidate that Beto is.
