Why the $26,000,000 "loan" to Manaforte from Putin's guy?

For the sake of argument let’s concede the article is 100% factually correct.
It's NBC, the Nothing But Chit channel, so it's probably somewhere between Brian Williams inventing the wheel and Hillary's deleted emails were just yoga routines on the bullshit scale. But the question you posed is an interesting one. I'm going to spectate this.

For the sake of argument let’s concede the article is 100% factually correct. In what way did that inspire people to vote for Trump? Please connect the dots for me.

Outside of right wing strawman arguments, who is claiming that inspired anybody to vote for anybody? I'm just asking a very basic question about this one unusual dot. Maybe it's not even a dot.

I just don't know much about unsecured $26,000,000 offshore loans from Russians.

OK, fair enough. I thought the Mueller inquiry had to do with Russian collusion swinging the election to Trump. I guess it is about shady business practices between Russian and American crony capitalists instead. So none of this article is an attempt to explain how Trump stole the election with Russian support?

Well, I don't know. I don't think that the special prosecutor's mission is to determine whether the Russians swung the election, either. I haven't heard someone say that outside of right wing propagandists trying to make that unprovable proposition the relevant inquiry.

A corollary question is why would anyone want to stop inquiry into the chairman of the Trump campaign's unsecured $26,000,000 loan from Russia? What is the down side to a little sunshine on this deal? Drain the swamp, etc., am I right?

Personally, I want a whole shit ton of forensic accounting done on everyone and their ancillaries in Washington. Then we move to the state level.

Hell, apparently Hillary intermingled her personal accounts with campaign accounts. At least that's what her very carefully crafted statement about Weinstein implied.

I guess we live in different dimensions of the same world. I thought the inquiry had to do with Trump and Putin conspiring to steal the election. I thought that was everybody's perspective. It comes as a surprise to me that it is only right wing propagandists that believed that.

As to why somebody wants the inquiry into Manafort’s dealings with a Russian oligarch to be squashed, the answer seems clear to me. Manafort, Trump, Putin, the Russian oligarch et al are corrupt, criminal rent seekers who want to get richer than they already are. That’s what I think. What do you think?

There isn't many in Washington that would want their real finances public. We have an ex-congressman who is a family friend. He's tight lipped but has pretty much stated the whole Washington system has evolved into a money making operation, not everyone, but a large percentage and it's not slanted to one party or the other they're in it together.

We do live in different dimensions, Dan. After you read this, would you please answer my question at the end of this post? Here's the document appointing Mueller:

By virtue of the authority vested in me as Acting Attorney General, including 28 U.S.C. §§ 509, 510, and 515, in order to discharge my responsibility to provide supervision and management of the Department of Justice, and to ensure a full and thorough investigation of the Russian govemment's efforts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election, I hereby order as follows:

(a) Robert S. Mueller III is appointed to serve as Special Counsel for the United States Department of Justice.

(b) The Special Counsel is authorized to conduct the investigation confirmed by then-FBI Director James H. Comey in testimony before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence on March 20, 2017, including:

(i) any links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump; and

(ii) any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation; and

(iii) any other matters within the scope of 28 C.F.R. § 600.4(a)

(c))If the Special Counsel believes it is necessary and appropriate, the Special Counsel is authorized to prosecute federal crimes arising from the investigation of these matters. (d) Sections 600.4 through 600.l0 of Title 28 of the Code of Federal Regulations are applicable to the Special Counsel.

Manafort got $26,000,000 from a Russian businessman? Wow. Sorta makes Bill and Hillary look like $20 crack whores. Look at how much more my side gouged them for than your side did. Now THAT’S making America great again!

I'm not convinced that Russia has been gouged. Looks like they're pretty damned smart and may be getting a great return on their investment. They know how to hurt a country -- push conservative themes and politics!

They're picking off the most gullible, uneducated demographic in the country. You see the same themes Russia pushes filter down to these boards all the time. It's amazing to me how conservatives can see America's enemy embrace conservative messaging and assist them in pushing conservative narratives and the light never comes on that maybe that's a good idea there needs to be some different thinking. Nope -- like Mark Twain said, it's easier to dupe someone than convince them they've been duped.

I don't know if any shady is happening. But, I like this statement in the article: "Using LLCs to purchase real estate is not necessarily illegal but is considered by money-laundering experts to be a potential red flag."

That's funny. Outside personal residences, using an LLC or LP is pretty much the only way property is purchased, primarily to limit personal liability and cross-liability exposure and accomplish segregation of assets for various business purposes. So, I guess the "money-laundering experts" believe that every commercial property in the US is potentially related to money laundering.

So obedient. Looks like the talking points are staying consistent. The left can't figure out how an entire group of people have remained immune to their brainwashing and it absolutely kills them. Instead of introspective thinking to see where their messaging falls flat, just demonize those who aren't unaware and compliant. Damn them! They must comply!

Manchelle was on the rampage recently, claiming that women who voted for Trump voted against their own voice. Hillary is still on the "cry it out and pity me, the victim of everything but myself" tour. And like clockwork, here's syskatine doing the usual screeching about conthervatifths. Life is good watching the continued powderpuff meltdown.

Just a reminder from the DNC emails via Wikileaks, lol...

"And as I've mentioned, we've all been quite content to demean government, drop civics and in general conspire to produce an unaware and compliant citizenry. The unawareness remains strong but compliance is obviously fading rapidly. This problem demands some serious, serious thinking - and not just poll driven, demographically-inspired messaging."

Ironically, that same email ends with this gem, which I admit does make me laugh out loud...

"I fear we are all now trying to navigate a set of forces that cannot be simply explained or fully understood, so it is and will reamin interesting!"

Why you trying to drag me into your little slap fight with Sys?

Not interested.

I don't take you and your views serious enough to care one way or the other.
Is that what sys and I were involved in? Thanks for letting me know. I thought it was good natured jawboning. I guess now I know what a slap fight is. I guess you were at least interested enough to comment. I love the smell of JD’s insults in the morning!

What is the down side to a little sunshine on this deal?

Wouldn’t this deal fall outside the permitted scope of the investigation? Could be other things have been discovered that we aren’t aware of, but on the surface, it seems out of bounds.

I forgot that you unaware and compliant lefties believe Assange typed up all of those DNC emails. My bad.

Remember when Donna Brazile didn't give debate questions to Hillary but then she did? Good times.

I thought it was $26,000,000. Is this like one of those stories where the 4 ounce perch becomes a 16 pound bass? Let me know how it turns out.

In the meantime, it's weird that James Comey drafted his statement clearing Hillary Clinton of wrong doing well before the "investigation" (matter) ended. I wonder why the FBI director wrote that draft before key Hillary folks were interviewed? It's almost like he was following someone's instructions. Weird.

You’re from Earth, I’m from outer space. That’s my answer to your last question. Am I missing something?

If your referring to the fact the document doesn’t specifically mention Trump/Russian collusion to impact the vote, I’ll give that one to you. Does that make you feel better?

Exactly. Many individuals also place their personal homes in Land Trusts and their rentals as wells.

Don't know about OK but it Texas it's legal to place all ones investment properties in "series LLCs". One Master LLC and each individual property placed in another LLC (in series) under the Master LLC. Limits liability to the individual property.
