Why didn’t he choose Mexico or Haiti?

I wonder if the US, Australia, and Canada share another key characteristic that plays a big role in daily life?

Of course. Mistreatment of their natives. But whatever you are alluding to, we all know Damon would never take his family and riches to a majority Brown / Black Country.

Same reason all the liberals said "I'm gonna move to Canada if Trump wins" and not Mexico. Doesn't make sense. Mexico is closer and has better weather. Its almost like they don't like brown people.

Not to mention, the carbon footprint from traveling back and forth from Australia is ridiculously high.

Isn’t Matt Damon an environmentalist?

One of Harvey’s pimps moving to the country isn’t exactly good PR for the Australian government, which already faces accusations of racism.

If you were choosing between the two countries, which would you choose?

Hint: You are much more likely to be the victim of a crime in one over the other.

Let’s be sure to let anyone move to our country from that one where you are much more likely to be the victim of a crime.

USA Today also reported it.

You of all people should understand ethno-nationalism.

So apparantly if you are American you are racist if you support ethno-nationism, but if you aren't then go right ahead and rub it in our faces?

So what Trump said about those countries has merit?

Some of it....even if HOW he said it really doesn’t.

Which is why I hate his methods of communication. The validity of the message gets hampered by its expression.

I know the claim will be that I feel that way because of WHO is doing the communicating, but...at least for me...it’s not.

I agree on principle but not in this example. He called the countries S*holes, which is not an innacurate assessment. However, it was the anti-trumpers who extrapolated that statement to mean that he was talking about the people of and from those countries and thus another facet of his racist beliefs.

NZ...you gotta know by now that there is a hugely effective response to your WeinsteinPicapaloozaWeinsteinPicapalooza every time you try this.

There is even the picture with Trump and That dirtbag.

Yet you keep banging away with the Weinstein pictures. I admire your persistence no matter how dumb I think it is to do it.

Calling the countries “shitholes” absolutely takes away from the validity of what I think he was trying to say IMO. This example falls in line with exactly the principle I stated, IMO.

He likes to provoke. When that is the basis of your communication, validity in the underlying message is almost always subject to greater scrutiny and doubt.

Am I correct in stating that these comments were made in private?

Which, if it were the case, doesn't seem quite as heinous.

Well, you might need to define what you mean by private. It was in a bipartisan group of legislators discussing immigration negotiations...which might arguably make it more egregious.
