Who’s Winning The Trade War?

Interesting. I guess the ONLY country we trade with is China. I find it amazing that this story failed to actually report the details that the trade deficit with CHINA still fell in April even though our overall trade deficit increased? Why is that? Oh, maybe because Europe is actually slowing down and the tariffs and trade war on China are actually working as intended. But don't let a couple of facts interrupt your "tariffs are bad" narrative. Also doesn't help when .7 basis points of a .8 shift are directly attributed to "reduced aircraft sales". Pretty sure that Boeing's failures aren't related to Trump or his tariffs.

It’s funny how the Trump haters attack anything he does. China has been taking advantage of the US for decades.

Explain it to me, adult view haver.

It’s been explained to you by several others but your hatred of all things Trump will not allow you to see reality. The post WWII trade model has run its course.

come on, prove how adult you are

Pilt, do you support protecting the environment? If so, you are a hypocrite if you buy anything from China. As I stated in this and prior threads, China has rock bottom prices because they do not subject themselves to such human standards as environmental protection, child-labor laws, minimum wages, IP protection, etc. If they did, like our US brethren do, their rock-bottom prices wouldn't be. Thus by choosing to buy their cheaper products, you are supporting all of the ills listed above vs. supporting companies and organizations that enact and promote such protections.

You are just parroting myths. China has child labor laws, and environmental protection laws. What do you think will happen to wages in China if they lose a major export market? Chines products are cheap because labor is cheap and the Chinese government subsidizes production.

This sounds like they have Child-labor laws:

And this picture is a clear example of their Environmental protections:

If I understand you correctly you are saying the Chinese don’t conduct business the way Americans do (environmental protection, child labor laws, unions, minimum wage etc.). Is it your contention, then, that Americans should not trade with any Chinese until the Chinese government becomes just like ours? I’m trying to get a handle on what you believe to be the solution to what you perceive to be inequities.
