I am not a usual suspect, and I am not going to say your eyes are lying to you. But I will say this is not particularly surprising - or even concerning for that matter. Politicians have worked hand in glove with approving journalists since the beginning of our country. The vicious back and forth between John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, and their competing newspapers would be shocking to today's generation. It's just what those people do. Donald Trump relied on Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Tucker Carlson and others to see his perspective was disseminated to his satisfaction, for example. The important thing to keep in mind is to know that is what is happening, and regard information from all competing politicians and journalists with deep skepticism. The way I put it is like this: They're all lying sons of bitches.
