Where was the shovel pass in the second half? WV decided to rush 3 and drop 8 into coverage for much of the second half. This doesn't need to be a called play. We kept a blocking back in much of the second half to help with the blitzes we saw in the first half. WV's response was to drop the LB's into coverage. So this is a "read" play. When the blocking back sees the LB's back off into coverage he needs to look back to the QB. This gives the QB time to read the down field routs. If they are covered flip the ball to the RB. With only 3 rushers there will almost always be an opening to run and the LB's are gone in coverage.
