Yep. EK Gaylord's granddaughter Christy sold the Oklahoman to Philip Anschutz of Denver, a conservative leaning guy. Anschutz also owns the Washington Examiner, which is conservative leaning. (Disclaimer - my grandparents were close friends with Edward L and Thelma Gaylord.)
I'm a firm believer that the Oklahoman has planted itself in the middle to attempt to bring more Oklahoma liberals into its readership to increase revenue in the face of continued delines in circulation. It was always so conservative that any left leaning sticks out to longtime readers.
