Witcraft was up 10-2 or something like that in the second when he hit a sneaky lat drop to take the kid to his back for the fall.

Sheets wrestled Blake who as Fr last year 12-4 @ 174, listed 165/174 this year. Legs in turned him twice 12-2.

Yeap. Dual just started.

After the first 3 matches I thought what a terrible start. Mastro will really need to work on getting out from the bottom. He did pull out the match and I think that Airforce guy did fairly good at the Big 12. Mastro wrestled later and won an easy decision and was in control the whole match. Witcraft pinned his guy with a throw and dominated before that. Nieiman struggles greatly when he is on bottom. Hone wrestled poorly and should have lost to a guy he should have beaten solidly. Boo took all the fight out of his opponent in the 1st period where he rode him for almost 2 and half minutes and then got a tech fall. Sheets must have hurt his knee because he had a big brace on in his exhibition match. He did not look good on his feet but as indicated previously he got mean on top and turned his opponent twice in the 3rd period. Harper wrestled okay and won a decision. He is a solid wrestler. Then Wittlake totally broke his opponent later in the match and got the tech fall. His improvement this year will be really important for our future. We found out Plotts weakness which is not unusual for true freshman in that they struggle on the bottom. He got rode badly the whole second period. His opponent took top in the 3rd and he did get away but he will need to improve greatly on bottom to be a strong all american. Montalvo wrestled an exhibition and really struggled. I think he should wrestle 84 and work this year on becoming a real good 84. Ferrari had an easy opponent and totally broke him in the 3rd period and won by tech fall. Harris won again at HWT by major. He never quits and wrestles his best in the 3rd period. Doucette got beat soundly by the guy Harris majored. Luke Surber won easily but did not dominate because he really got tired and sloppy later in the match.
I watched Iowa destroy Minnesota in a dual. Next week Michigan will wrestle Iowa which should be a great dual.

Gfeller won soundly by decision and looked okay but isn't anywhere close to what he was as a redshirt freshman starter. It would be good to see him jump to a new level this year.

These extra bouts are interesting as the coaches scramble to get guys matches. Looks like Gfeller wrestled a 141 lber. And Wittlake & Sheets both wrestled the same guy.

Didn't notice that Sheets wrestled the same guy till later. Have to think Sheets is on his way down to 157 and prob weighed in between 157 & 165. Blake looked bigger, and appeared to out horse Sheets for the reversal, but not huge compared. Sheets is probably a large 157lber this year.
