I have a buddy that is looking to buy a grinder. He will basically use it just for venison, putting 3-4 deer a year through it. What horsepower would you guys recommend? Thanks!
I've had a Fleetwood for many years... 1 horsepower... See Nextag.. for a better price... They have a Sausage stuffing attachment that goes with it... EBay sells these also..
I've attached the Nextag link below... This is bottom of the line 1HP Commercial. Will do up to 400 lbs in one running... great for processing Hogs, Deer or Goat I've never had an Issue.
It's substantially more than what 99.999% of the population needs, but I love it. I used to have an old Cabelas grinder that worked for years and was great, but using an Omcan or Fleetwood is a different world.
All the cool sausage attachments and blades make it worth it.
I have the 1.5 hp from Cabelas and it's far far more machine than what I need for about what your saying you'll grind. If I had it to do over I would go for the 1 hp it would be much easier to handle. Otherwise it's okay and did come with sausage stuffer.
