I found this article to be very interesting. I feel like in in such a silo when it comes to other countries, so I was trying to see what I could find on Russia. I came across this article and I was curious what others would take away from it.

These are complicated issues. Putin is a ruthless KGB thug who admittedly wants to get the old U.S.S.R. gang back together. He also clearly has a vision for his country and will not give into U.N. recommended replacement migration and for that he should be commended.

Kind of like Assad in Syria. You'll never see me praising the guy but at the same time he is protecting hundreds of 1000s of Syrian Christians. The world is very gray and democracy/freedom-spreading is a fool's errand in the ME. We need to focus on getting our own house in order.
