There is a lot to like about the CFP if you do not let the rankings each week spoil your view. Look at it more like the NCAA BB tournament with the first ranking basically determining the field. Teams that have won all or all but one of their games up to the first ranking get into the top 25. After that, each week then becomes an elimination week. Rarely, a team that loses late may get in the field, but in reality, lose in Nov and you are out. So yesterday, Memphis, TCU, Mich St, and LSU were eliminated. The only possible way any of them get back in is if the teams above them stumble even worse.
Regardless of where we are ranked this week, we still have to win out. Baylor and uo have the same opportunity. Florida can jump Bama by beating them in the SEC title game. They could also eliminate themselves by losing to Fla St in the last game of the season. Same can be said of Iowa in the Big 10. ND vs Stanford will be an elimination game. As strong as Clemson has looked, they can not afford to over look anyone as the season winds down. One loss(to a bad team) in Nov will knock even a front runner out.
So consider the tournament under way. Call it November madness if you want. Who will you be rooting for(besides the Cowboys) next weekend?
