I’m a law enforcement guy that thinks too many things are felonies and too many people get thrown in jail as a result.
If we changed that, prison population would decrease and we could dedicate more resources to the real criminals.

Yeah...I can get behind that as well. Just didn’t mention it since we were talking about incarceration rates and people are pretty rarely incarcerated for any appreciable amount of time over misdemeanors.

Yep! Oklahoma puts way too many pure drug offenders in prison. And the sentences are ridiculous compared to other states, especially for first time offenders.

Well, there's typically southern red state, conservative shittiness and then there's being #1! in failure to address serious, hard-core approaches to government. For a state that gave up a head start of 100 years of economic momentum to the rest of the country, I think our development went about as well as expected given our resources and country-ass demographics.

Spent a lot of time the Central Valley, Sacramento down to Bakersfield all the way over to the central coast leasing land. Majority of land owners I talked to couldn't stand their national representatives and their liberal state government. Very conservative people. Bitched about water, taxes and illegals taking over their small communities. CA is beautiful but there's a reason a lot of people want to separate from the wacky libs in SF and LA.
If it wasn't for immigration, legal and illegal, CA would have negative population growth. Not to mention their state and municipal unfunded liabilities are astronomical, no way future generations will be able to meet them.
Funny the people I talk to are horrified at what Trump is doing and can't wait for the opportunity to make their opinions evident via the November vote.
I suspect we must run I'm different circles.

As to Central Valley, no surprise you are clueless, but please enlighten us all on your opinion of a place you have no idea about.
One is Republican who voted for HRC over Trump's racial insensitivity. One is hard core GOP, will support anyone willing to stand up to him now, his beef is trade. One is Blue through and through.
Felt strongly enough to give money to trump only to take his vote away 500 days later before any consequences to trump’s trade policy have played out. Sounds like an emotion driven person.
