I get that your team loves adding illegals to the population to serve their political goals, but I'm hardcore against the horrors of human trafficking that are often involved. The more difficult our border is to cross, the less business human traffickers will get. That's a win.

Thanks for the assist on my point. Human trafficking is bad. Having policies that entice illegal entry provide perfect fodder for human traffickers. Common sense immigration laws and common sense barriers will reduce the scourge of human trafficking because people won't be as willing to risk their lives and money for zero return on their investment.

Once they turn over the GoFundMe money to the federal government there is no guarantee it will be used for building the wall. I appreciate the sentiment, and while the wall will be built it just won't happen with GoFundMe money.

What did he say would work? I've talked to Border Agents who said the reason the wall would work (and it has already worked in areas it has been built) is because it funnels the criminals into smaller corridors that can be easier policed and managed.
We have paid 10's of billions to give illegal's government benefits, incarcerate them, fly them back to countries of origin and whatever else it entails so $5 billion to build a wall seems like a small price to pay. What I know is that if every criminal act committed by illegals were perpetrated against liberals or their family members this issues would have been solved long ago.
Now it has simply come down to not seeing trump have a "W" in the run-up to the 2020 election. Makes sense to me...sacrifice Americans lives, treasure and uniqueness so we can deny trump a win......
It would be quite something if illegals tailored 100% of their criminal activity to specifically victimize a single political party.
Seems to me it would be more like a random thing, equal opportunity transgressors.

In a sense, he’s probably right. Put the federal government in charge of health care reform with the goal of saving money and costs explode exponentially. Put the federal government in charge of a mandatory retirement plan (social security) and it’s projected to go broke in 2034. Put the federal government in charge of eliminating poverty and you spend trillions of dollars and you get more poverty.
But hey, maybe this will be the first big spending project that will be finished on time and under budget.
Even so, if it’s effective, it would pay for itself at 10 times that price. We’ll see.

I can see where a skilled worker who speaks English can immigrate and have an immediate positive impact. And I can also see where a person with no skills and a sixth grade equivalent education and speaks only a foreign language would be an immediate drag on the economy.
How do you determine that immigrants are a net positive?
