Yet the guy trying to stop her is hated by half the country, the media tells us. And many here agree.

BTW it's important to note that she's pushing for Section 230 to be repealed. If they steal the next election, that's likely what will happen.
Why should you care?
Section 230 says that social media sites like X, Facebook and even this message board will be treated as if they are PLATFORMS. Which means they are NOT responsible for the content posted by users, in almost all cases.
Repealing 230 would reclassify those sites from being platforms to being PUBLISHERS. That means whenever a user posts content, the site owner is viewed as a publisher so they are taking responsibility for that content.
If 230 is repealed, X and Facebook and very likely all message boards on Rivals including this one will immediately be shut down. The site owners will have no choice, as they would be sued into oblivion for the content their users would post.
My guess is the left wants to shut down any social media site that currently allows free speech. X will go away, this board will go away. Then the left will launch 'new' social media sites where the owners will keep an iron grip on content moderation so that all users will at least be banned for posting any 'unapproved' opinion, if not worse.
It will result in social media being 100% liberal propaganda. All center or conservative voices will be silenced.
Factor this in when you decide who to vote for.
