Why did it take us until the bowl game to get Brennan Presley this involved in the offense??? He had 10 catches for 137 yards against Notre Dame. This should be close to his production EVERY STINKING GAME.
Before the Fiesta he had 40 catches on the season. He had ONE FOURTH of that total in the bowl game! Before the Fiesta, he had about 480 yards receiving. He had NEARLY A THIRD of that total in the bowl game!
And, as Guerin Emig did a great job of pointing out in his story today, he may have had the most important catch of the game on Saturday. The catch that was low from SS on 3rd-and-long on the first drive of the second half was corralled (no pun intended. okay, maybe a little) by Brennan off the ground saved the drive and probably changed the game. If you remember, the catch was challenged but upheld. Without that catch, we punt and don’t pull within a score and our momentum is gone.
The same thing happened with Brennan last year. Practically unused the entire season in 2020, then he had 6 catches for 118 yards and 3 scores against Miami in the bowl game.
I can almost understand 2020 because a) he was a true freshman, and (more importantly) b) he was playing behind Dillon Stoner.
Are we trying to keep our secret weapon a secret?
The dude can ball!
TURN BRENNAN LOOSE!! GET HIM THE BALL!! Don’t let him be another Tyreek Hill!
Oh, and by the way, he can be an incredible ambassador for us. He appears to have an outstanding personality.
