Exactly right. You need to understand that the conservative-dominated government neither advocates nor practices free market policies. So please - PLEASE! - quit saying it does.
Conservative dominated? No. Republican dominated? Yes. Most Republicans stopped being conservative many, many years ago.
Yeah - they aren't conservatives the way the soviets weren't communists. Whatever the theory, I'm more interested in real world performance.

YES!!! Most of them were elected as self-described conservatives!! They lead with it, take pride in it, mention it in debates... this is conservatism in practice. I get that you may have some lofty ideal of it, but this is what it is.
A parallel example is communists saying that the Soviet Union wasn't really true communism. Maybe, maybe not, but we've seen it in practice and it is what it is.
