Yes 2 of our Stillwater signees or commitments aren't wrestling. I would have really liked to see them (Anthony Ferrari and Cael Hughes). Anthony Ferrari must have had a fairly serious injury because he has been out at least 6 months. Anyone know injury and if he is going to wrestle this year? I will have real interest in if Angelo continues his progression that occurred this summer. Sam Smith at 120 will also be of great interest. I thought he wrestled 113 this summer and didn't do well at all against rated wrestlers. I think I remember reading and seeing that Ladarion Lockett despite being very young could be real good.

AF will wrestle. Likely after the first of the year. Had a significant shoulder injury that required surgery.

Willie's updated rankings show Cael Hughes back from injury and wrestling in the Ironman.
 
Skipping back and forth on flo, Angelo has two wins including tech fall and a Major decision over Dom Federici of Wy. Seminary, Sam Smith has a major after bye in the first round at120,JordanCullors has two wins but the last one was a tough 6-4 win over Ryan Vigil. Forbes at 106 had a fall after leadng 14-1, Lockett Stw had a 9-1 decision, Giddens-Buttram had a fall. JJ (Rogers) McComas had a close 4-3 decision when a penalty point tacked on for cautions after the match which was trending in favor of DeRaker.

Christian Forbes, Giddens-Buttram, Roller and Angelo Ferrari all won their 3rd round matches and are in the quarters tonight. In Roller's Match it was #7 seed against #8 seedRoller and he steam-rolled to a 5-0 lead and then pinned him. Giddens had a tough match against a#7 seed but won 5-4 and Ferrari dominated his match but the final score was 4-0. Forbes won6-4.

Christian Forbes BA loses at 106 in qtrs 5-1. I believe Robb is just out of football and several bigs not there due to this. Forbes was #5 seed and Hilton was #4.

Giddens-Buttram loses 18-5 to #3 seed Sergio Lemley. Has not started well for the Okies.

Landyn Sommer lost his conso match 3-1. His opponent was from Walsh Jesuit and I am nominating the opponent for most elegant name in all of wrestling- DY'VAIRE VANDYKE. Finals are scheduled for 3PM OK time.

Ferrari and Lockett advance to the finals. Lockett really looked good especially considering he is a freshman wrestling a senior. Angelo did not look so good but won 5 to 3. Voinovich got pounded by a senior Cardenas

Ferrari wins 5-3 and is in the finals as is Ladarion Lockett who came back to win 5-3 on late takedown.Two Stillwater wrestlers in the finals. Voinovich loses but he and JJ (Rogers) McComas will both place.

LaDarion Lockett as a freshman won the Ironman at 144 beating Dutten 6 to 4. He shot twice in the last 30 seconds of the match and almost gave up 2 takedowns(did give up 1) to make the match very close. I liked his aggressiveness when he had the lead but it almost cost him.

Lockett wins Walsh Ironman title with 6-4 win over a 2X Mo. champ who has committed to Ark/Little Rock.

Ferrari pulls out a very close match in overtime overcoming giving up a 5 point move in the 3rd period. In the 2nd overtime Ferrari gets the escape and his opponent got rode for 30 seconds. Ferrari was winning easily until the throw. Ferrari showed some toughness winning in overtime after getting thrown in the 3rd.

Ferrari showed some toughness winning in overtime after getting thrown in the 3rid That was a great match on Ferrari's part and as Harley said he showed great gumption in coming back from a throw to his back to win it with a ride-out in OT. Logan Ours has already committed to Wyoming. BTW with matches to go Stillwater has moved into fourth place and as I said we only took ten wrestlers and left Cael Hughes and Anthony Ferrari at home. We are only a half point ahead of Bethlehem Catholic but I do not think we can fall past 5th.I realize I am saying "we" but I am old enough to be a "Pioneer" and Stillwater is a great feeder program.

Last Post as I failed to mention 2 other Stillwater wrestlers placed as JJ (Rogers) McComas took 7th with a forfeit win over Clay Giddens-Buttram Bixby who took 8th and Cael Voinovich came back from his loss to the eventual Champion Cardenas for a 4th place finish. I would like to think Giddens may have forfeited to push Stillwater ahead of Bethlehem Catholic for 4th place.
