The Mary Fallin thread got me to thinking.

What are some votes that you have cast that you wish you had not?

Today: Joy Hofmeister

I’ve donated to her campaign a couple of times. I know her personally.

But I don’t think she has prioritized issues and made an impact so far in her tenure.

well, she is pretty good lookin'.

One vote I was on the losing side of but am still very proud of was the Oklahoma defense of marriage amendment. I was one of the 27% that voted against the prevention of same sex marriage. Feels good to be on the right side even when we lost - although, eventually we did win. And it is good to see attitudes changing in Oklahoma regarding this.

Dave Freudenthal, a two term conservative Democrat governor here. I had no regrets until he endorsed 0bama in the 2008 election. The dude would not have been elected without Republicans like me and he stabbed us all in the back.

Not that it was of any consequence, as McCain won Wyoming easily. But hey, Dave...

None. Included in those votes was one for Hildebitch. Full disclosure, she was running against Obama in the primary.

In the 2016 Dem Primaries, I voted for O'Mally. He was still on the Oklahoma ballot despite having already dropped out of the race.

In high school I voted for a girl for student council because she was a total smoke show, turned out she was an air head. I feel ashamed that I voted based on looks and that I should have asked her hard questions and found out how she felt about student parking, lunch hour, maybe even serious things like pre marital sex.

I remember snorting up all the Rush Limbaugh I could in the early 90's, voting for HW Bush, and then on election night at a party writing my predictions which were double digit interest rates, double digit inflation, and double digit unemployment. Rush had me totally convinced we were in for Jimmy Carter hell again.

Ross Perot.....knew some folks that were close friends of the Clinton’s and they loved their “party side,” but thought they were both sleazy and dishonest, so he wasn’t an option. Then Bush with his “no new taxes,” promise, so could vote for him either. Only time I’ve ever bought a political person tee shirt to wear. Almost went for Ron Paul the libertarian. If I remember correctly even Lyndon LaRouche was running.
