We're a family of 4, and we're going to pull the trigger soon on getting our youngest a phone. We've been AT&T customers forever, but I'm seriously considering switching to Verizon, especially as they have the $45/for 4 unlimited data, talk, and text plan going. I used to believe that AT&T had the better nationwide service in terms of getting a signal, but after a trip to Colorado last year with some friends, those who had Verizon could get a signal in extremely remote locations whereas we were in a dead zone.

Anybody got any opinions on switching? I believe I'm the only one that's still on an AT&T "contract," but it expires in May. Does Verizon buy out contracts in order to get you to be a customer? Any other incentives (discounts/free phones)? Thanks, and I'll take my call off the air...

Wife's work iPhone on Verizon won't work downstairs, we actually had to move her office upstairs, just so she could take calls. ATT works all over the house. I think each network has dead spots. Key is to (somehow) find which network is better for your normal everyday sphere of travel, and go with that one.

Just depends on where you are...Verizon is shit in Indiana, but ATT and T-Mobile are great...pricing wise, I think Verizon wins.

Prices are similar, speeds are very close, both are going to be stronger in some places than others... You really can go wrong with either, but the thing I like more about ATT is that you can talk and surf the web at the same time.

We had ATT. Got tired of the sub par service and rude customer reps and made the switch to Verizon. No regrets.
