i know boo lewallen @ 138 tristan moran@145 and i heard nick picci @121 were going to wrestle in las vegas. i think they will be late entrees. not 100% sure on nick but i know he is preparing to cut to 121 for some freestyle tournament this summer.
Interesting to see Picc there I've never seen him wrestle freestyle before this might actually be his first tournament
yes i believe it is. also his first time being down @121 since junior year in high school. he put on some good pounds during his redshirt year.
That's nice to hear I know when he was a senior if he really wanted to he could've went 120 as he didn't cut much at all to go 126
Pretty sure that Nick is not going to Vegas or to Irving. My cup runneth over when I heard that several of our young guns are going to the Junior World Trials in Irving in May. Mr. Earl and I had already made plans to go. This should be a great tournament.
was hoping that nick would be going; i wasn't 100% sure after speaking with my source about nick going because he's not a freestyler but he did say they were training and looking to go to vegas. thats the word i received so things may have changed for him.
Jamie, you may be right but I had heard second hand that he was not going. Hope my source was wrong.
UWW Junior Freestyle Nationals Men 55 KG / 121.25 lbs Nick Piccininni (College) New York Oklahoma State
Could be cool to see a Fix, Piccinini match. Fix is a beast in freestyle and I'd like to see where Nick is at in a style he's never wrestled before. Nolf didn't seem to have a problem adapting last year
A good number of the guys at 74kg are small for the weight but 66kg is out of reach or conflicts with putting on mass for some while 70kg is not a weight competed at the world level. So while not optimal for some of the competitors 74kg is the best option for competition and trying to make the world team.
List includes Daton Fix 55 kg and Kaden Gfeller at60kg both wrestling for team Big. Wyatt Sheets is wrestling 70kg for Stillwell. Joe Smith is wrestling at 74kg for Titan Mercury. Wrestlers for OK State are Nick Piccinni at 55kg, Lincoln Olsen at 60kg, Boo Lewallen at 66kg, Tristen Moran at 66kg and Andrew Marsden at 96kg. Jaryn Curry is not on the list. Glad Pic is wrestling contrary to what I was told.Rhett Golowenski is also going at 50kg.

Sorry I thought it was this one that Curry was going too but it's actually the tournament in Akron on July 22
He walks around at 160. Had to cut 6-7 pounds to make 45 so hasn't put on as much as I figured he would. He needs to continue to get bigger.

Failed to mention two other wrestlers at this weight from Nebraska. Jake Stogdil was 2nd in state at 113# and was 41-4 as a senior. Wesley Dawkins from Lincoln, Ne was 3rd at 113 in 2015 and 1st at 120 in 2016.

The schedule shows Freestyle weigh ins begin are from 11AM to 12:30 and pairing clinic starts at 12:30 and ends at 2:30. That would mean brackets will not be out until about 4:30 to 5PM Central time and the prelims or session 1 begins at 4pm or 6PM Central time.
They actually have recruited 4 really talented kids at the lower weights. Lee looks like a career 125, Teasdale is expected to grow to possibly 141. Not sure about Renteria and Mejia.
