There is a discussion on another forum I go to saying it's OK for people on Sec 8, food stamps, medical care and other government tit programs to be able to use their money to get tattoos, go to sporting events and wear $100+ designer tennis shoes in lieu of paying their living expenses. Easy to afford these "pleasures" when they are not paying $1000 a month to live.
