This is pretty frightening to me for personal reasons. For three years I played on a coed Congressional Softball team that played in the Congressional League. Most of our games were in the District, but occasionally we would play a game in Arlington, not but about 2 miles from that particular facility.
I played for the team from Representative Jerry Solomon's office (R-NY).
To think that some nutcase thinks this is the way to go, and the entire randomness of it is just shows that you're never truly safe.

Not good. Likely means he's still bleeding. There comes a point where you lose so much blood that even multiple whole body blood transfusions won't save you. "Hip" is layman's for internal pelvic area and it was a 7.62 round so lots of potentially catastrophic damage.
Democrats and Republicans in Congress praying for Scalise in DC today.
It's a shame that it takes events like this every once in a while to remind us that sometimes we take things a little too far in our political verbiage.

Media has blood on its hands IMO, they have been all too willing to lie to create a greater divide in this country then needs to exist. The media is creating haters and glorifies them.

Yes sir, some really big ones, including those that run through the pelvic bones. Plus you gots guts down there that can be difficult to repair, especially with large caliber high velocity rounds.
Gunshots in the pelvic region carry a significant mortality rate. That's what the officer from Tecumseh who was shot died from earlier this year despite aggressive blood product resuscitation and multiple surgeries. They just couldn't stop all the bleeding.

You're always a standup guy CowboyUp. I'm not religious at all, but it might take some miracle type stuff for Rep. Scalise to survive based on the continued bad news.
