Anyone know of a way to get a discount at this place? Going down to Orlando before Thanksgiving and my daughter is a huge HP nerd so it's kind of a no brainer to try to go if we can. Just started looking online and yowza! They are really proud of that place. Any reputable discounts codes or sites out there?

Stay at one of the $500 a night hotels. You can get like $20 off and an hour early entrance to the park!!

Stay at Cabana Beach Bay Resort on property. Rooms for $150 or so a night, and you get early admission to the park, which is almost a must to get all the HP stuff done.

The resort is pretty cool as well, has a bowling alley, nice pool and decent, cheaper food.

That's what I'm looking at doing gipraw, I looked at staying off site and the actual savings was only going to be about $60 for four people. I've heard that about the HP stuff, if you want to see it all you have to get there early before the park opens. I've the rest of Islands of Adventure is almost a ghost town because of the HP stuff.

I am going to be there in a couple of weeks. Really looking forward to it. FYI, I have heard that the Hogwarts Express is a "must do". You can only ride it if you get the park hopper pass that allows you access to both parks, so it is worth the extra $ to not pick 1 of the 2 parks and spend all of your time there.

I agree with you though. Was shocked when I saw how much I would be spending on tickets.

If you plan on buying fast passes it is worth it to stay at one of the nicer Universal hotels for a night because they are included. You get fast passes on check in and check out day. We're doing that at the end of March, but only staying there one night and then moving to a more reasonable hotel for the rest of our Orlando trip.

This! After you get early admission and you want to ride again it is well worth it.

My wife and I took our 3 boys over Labor day weekend last year. As far as tickets, we purchased four 2-day park hopper tickets. The last ticket we bought the day that we checked into our hotel. We purchased one of the Universal Studio annual passes which gives you a discount on the hotel.

Regarding the hotel, we stayed at the Royal Pacific because not only did you get early entry to the parks, you also got the Express Pass Unlimited. At the time, I believe the Royal Pacific was the cheapest hotel that had the Express Pass Unlimited option and if purchased separately would be $89 per person per day. You get that benefit both the day you check in and the day you check out.

HOWEVER, I would research to see if what we did would be the most beneficial for your family. For us, it was worth every penny because of the time saved. We did a two-night stay with us hitting Hollywood Studios the 2nd of our 3-day stay.

Good luck @Inky29 . I don't envy you trying to minimize the cost. It was an expensive month for sure since we also did a short cruise.
