Yes, Hezbollah should not launch one single unprovoked missile into Israel. And Israel should not launch any unprovoked missiles into Lebanon, or Gaza, or Syria, or Iran ... and should not threaten Jordan or Egypt ...

In 1969 a US news correspondent was riding in a huey gunship supporting ground operations just south of the DMZ. As the ship and their wingman circled the small VC enclave two teen age and one pre-teen approached a group of US & ARVN soldiers that were offering them some gum/crackers/treats when the gunner on his ship yelled out that the peasants had thrown at least 2-grenades or some kind of explosive devices down and turned to run away. The devices went off and the gunner reported at least 4-grunts were down.

He directed the pilot to turn to get them in sight and when he did he gunned them down. The attached reporter was screaming uncontrollably yelling at the gunner and cursing him for his actions. As the reporter was not connected to the radio net in the chopper the gunner could not understand him. Shortly, as they were back at altitude and the reporter could make himself heard, he again yelled at the gunner (paraphrased) to wit "how could you possibly gun down those civilians in such cold blood"? The gunner replied, "you mean those VC that just blew up our men"? The reporter replied "yes those children". The gunner replied "you just don't lead them as much as you would a man".

There are no rules of war but the rules you follow and for the reasons you follow them.
