Four wrestlers with OK State background.I'm a little surprised the entry list is so light. I thought more guys with proven freestyle success would compete. Guys that made past Junior World teams like Micic, Gross, Deakin, Pantaleo, Valencia, Moore, etc.
Tom Ryan seems to be the only coach that has clearly emphasized freestyle over the folkstyle regular season (he's said as much in interviews). Ohio State wants to win Nationals in Cleveland next year, but he's still sending NaTo, Mckenna, and Martin.
Trackwrestling will be streaming.

Fix TF over Cronin 10-0, Lewallen in a barnburner over Robbie Mathers 13-11. Collica has won his two matches 6-4 and 8-7 but has not looked good. He looks slow and indecisive. Maybe too long a lay off. Fix wrestles Rodriguez in the semis and Tomasello wrestles Lambert in the other 57kg semi. Boo Lewallen is in the semis against Jaydin Eirman with McKenna wrestling Zacherl in the other Semi. Collica in the semis against Richard Lewis and Lewis dec. Lavion Mayes 10-1 in the qtrs.Fix tf over Alexander Mackall, Harding loses to Punke 0-10 and Collica wins 6-4.
osu2082, You are correct and he was the OW of that tournament as he teched Heil and Earl Hall and in the finals he dec. Tommy Thorne 13-4.Big time win for Boo against Mathers. He was on fire this summer winning University Nationals while teaching Dean Heil.
Boo Lewallen tf 15-5 over Jaydin Eirman. Lewallen is the real deal. Fix dec. Rodriguez 8-3 after going ahead 6-0 he gave up a push out and a takedown before coming back with a great duck to win. Collica loses to Richard Lewis 11-3. As I said earlier Collica did not look good all morning. We have two in the finals set for 3pm.osu2082, You are correct and he was the OW of that tournament as he teched Heil and Earl Hall and in the finals he dec. Tommy Thorne 13-4.

Not news to you but Eirman is a fantastic young wrestler who was a AA last year (5th place).
Boo has had an incredible run today.
I won't be able to watch these matches until tonight, but a few thoughts...
I haven't seen Josh Rodriguez in freestyle, but he had some tough battles with Picc this year. Interested to see what that match against Fix looked like. Boo avenges his folkstyle loss to Eierman from the Scuffle this year. It wouldn't surprise me if Collica looked sluggish, he's probably enjoyed some time away from the college grind. I'm just glad to see him still competing. Also, Richie Lewis is tough, will be in the AA mix at 157 this year.
Looks like the first match not until 3:30 and it will be Lewallen vs. McKenna.GWH beat Cronin 8-3 in his first consolation match then fell to Lambert 11-6. Collica fell to Zovistoski 8-8 (criteria) in his first consolation match.
Boo loses the first 5-1. Was 1-1 with about 30 seconds left and Mckenna hit a 4 point move.
Fix does it!!!! Knocks of NATO in the second match 7-4.
Not there was any question but this kid is special.
Boo has nothing to be ashamed of and he was in both matches. He needs to figure out the head pinch of McKenna and it would be a different match. Daton wrestled well against a very good opponent. Unfortunately for most of the match Track was experiencing "technical difficulties" so I only watched parts of it and listened to parts of others.Boom...very happy for Daton!
Very proud of Boo. Disappointed for him that he came up a little bit short today. He's a terrific young man and a great wrestler. Keep pushing, you are almost there!

Is there a chance boo competes for 149 this year?

This is probably not necessary, but just in case, I wanted everyone to be clear about what I posted. I wrote that I was disappointed "for" Boo and not "in" Boo. He certainly has nothing to be ashamed about, he wrestled great.
I wrote in another post that I'm a big fan of Boo. He's had to persevere through some serious injuries both in high school and in college. He is a tough kid with a ton of talent. More importantly, he's a terrific young man off the mat. A great example of what it is to be a Cowboy!

boo has gained some good weight but i am not sure if boo is big enough for 49 but he will be serviceable if he gets the spot.
