When a teacher has to spend time worrying about which pronoun to use or offensive language that could get them fired that is precious time taken away from preparing lessons, explaining the material and grading papers. Every teacher I know is constantly on edge about offending thier students. Social studies in particular must be a constant who am I going to offend today issue.
