Yes, I know..."polls".

Before complete dismissal, a few of you might want to search what they have said about Quinnipiac polls in the past though.

It is also reports several different polls, including one from Fox News. Finally Newsmax certainly isn't a left wing Huffpo Democratic site. It leans pretty damn far to the right.

Just grist for the mill.

*fwiw

Your research on polling and triangulation across a spectrum of polls is a good statistical practice, one that I look for or execute myself when I consume this type of data.

52% of the public trust the media over Trump. Let's not overlook how awful of a number that is. The media's entire job is to be trustworthy. If they are not trustworthy they are entirely useless while a President can do his job without being trustworthy, as many have. I don't find Trump or the media to be trustworthy, but I certainly have higher expectations for the media than I do for a politician and the fact that only 52% of the public finds them more trustworthy is an embarassment.

A fair statement I can agree with when it references the media. A President can do his job without being trustworthy, but I sure as heck want a trustworthy President as well.

I posted this more for discussion than asserting the poll is entirely accurate. If the poll IS accurate, it reflects that Trump has not yet won his war against the media. That is certainly my impression of the issue.

No one will win this war. It's just like watching a Presidential debate. If you love Hillary then she won and vice versa. If the war could be won, Trump is not the person who could win it. He's willing to fight the battle so that's something but he says too much stupid stuff to have the level of credibility necessary to win a war against the media. His followers love it but he's not swaying anyone, including the media itself. I can't even watch the news anymore because it's just liar liar pants on fire back and forth.

Double like.

I agree.

President Trump invited the Pope for lunch on his mega yacht. The Pope accepted and during lunch, a puff of wind blew the Pontiff's hat off, right into the water.

It floated off about 50 feet, then the wind died down and it just floated in place.
The crew and the secret service were scrambling to launch a boat to go get it, when Trump waved them off, saying "Never mind, boys, I'll get it myself."

The Donald climbed over the side of the yacht, walked on the water to the hat, picked it up, walked back on the water, climbed into the yacht, and handed the Pope his hat. The crew was speechless. The security team and the Pope's entourage were speechless. No one knew what to say, not even the Pope.

But that afternoon, NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC, CNN reported:
*"TRUMP CAN'T SWIM!"*

I don't think it's about "winning a war against the media." Bannon said it's going to be a fight every day with the corporate globalist MSM press - whom he calls the opposition party - of whom CNN is the face.

I think it's mostly about keeping the narratives from getting traction. It's unseemly on both sides, but it's effective and that's why it's being done. It's a standoff where CNN can keep the pressure on, but he can still define himself and get his message out.

Mutually assured marginalization. And I rather enjoy it.

This seems to be a subtle shift in viewing the situation for you. Can't exactly put my finger on it. Mutually assured marginalization is a good description.
