Honest question as I never followed the approval ratings of Obama and prior presidents. Given the polarization of people today, I figure 40% will love him, 40% will hate him, and 20% will drift in the wind. But how often are public opinion polls normally taken? Were they weekly/daily under prior presidents? Seems like we get a new poll nearly every day following whatever 'outrageous' executive branch action was taken that day.

Oh, and I believe the Rasmussen Presidential Approval poll is a rolling poll that is conducted daily.

Others, I don't know. I'd imagine it depends on what narrative needs to be driven at any given moment (to a large degree).
