He betrayed many people that voted for him in the end.

Trump Was Tragically Finished Off at the Hand of a Ruthless Assassin -- Himself
By Geoffrey P. Hunt

What was Trump thinking? Why did he invite a super-sized rally crowd to the Capitol on the very day members of Congress were prepared to expose the fraudulent election in front of tens of millions? Why did Trump erase the chance for anyone, even opponents, to witness proof of the steal?

And why did Trump once more get rolled? The TV cameras never displayed the electoral count proceedings -- instead predictably captured the Dem orchestrated breach into the rotunda.

Trump has been blamed for the mayhem, just as he was blamed for the CCP Covid 19 pandemic, its death toll, economic lockdowns, and stalled Covid 19 relief packages. Unfair, but predictable.

A Trump rally on the steps of the Capitol-- just days after the GOP’s utter humiliation in Georgia, aided and abetted by Trump’s own demonization of all things Republican in Georgia thereby suppressing R turnout -- while the Democrat media and never-Trumpers in Congress on both sides couldn’t wait to get rid of him -- was destined to end badly, and did. Trump’s supersized ego betrayed the very supporters who are the unrelenting rank-and-file of the MAGA movement, and whose hopes and welfare he claimed were more important than his own.

It was all a trap, and Trump couldn’t resist the cheese. Snap!

Did Trump really want a second term in 2024? It wasn’t going to happen for 2020 no matter how much we believe he, and we, were victims of a massive fraud. His last chance to make an indelible impression that he was the rightful winner was enjoined, making room for the last chapter in the Trump-hate narrative from the Dem politicians and their media, NeverTrumpers, and RINOs who have relentlessly tormented and hunted him down since November of 2016, through the final days.

So, why couldn’t he at least have left a graceful impression to step aside silently, giving no clue as to his real disposition, making his adversaries worry whether a retribution would come at a time of his choosing? Or did Trump orchestrate a theatrical headlong rush into political gunfire, hoping to be a martyr, in an otherwise noble cause that he could never fully bring to completion?

Donald J Trump would never admit that he was the basket, not the fruit. Of course, he plumbed and channeled the populist America First temperament into an unlikely ascendancy to the presidency. But it never was only about him; he was not there at the beginning, and his grandiose lack of self-awareness was the grenade he allowed his enemies to roll into his own followers’ bunker.

Fair enough, Trump was the only voice to synthesize the hopes, and the grievances harbored by the deplorables -- which in the beginning were white working class everyday Marys and Joes, but in the end included inner city blacks, Hispanics, and a wide spectrum of recent and 2nd generation legal immigrants who had found their voice in Donald Trump -- albeit imperfect, impolite, bombastic, tasteless, raw, and coarse. On the other hand, he has been compelling, prescient, more often than not full of truths, mostly uncomfortable, impossible to switch off.

Thus, Trump’s exit amidst a vortex of contradictions and unfinished business was unnecessary as tragically scripted by Trump himself; after all, the election was never going to be reversed, but he could fight another day. His exit was destined to end badly when the alt- script written by his enemies was delivered to perfection -- all predictable, but he either couldn’t see it coming, or didn’t care.

Trump’s life has no tincture of nuance. Trump’s entrances have always been gilded, speckled with melodrama and glitter. Trump’s life has been the glory of binary choices, where decisions were his, alone, to make. If right, he could win big, relying on instinct. If wrong, he could rationalize losses, leave debris cleanup to others, move on to the next charm, and find a new set of creditors. No middle ground there, and little room for anyone but himself. That works for a sole entrepreneur -- while hits outnumber misses -- not for a president whose enemies are legion, but friends in governance are scarce.

Hubris is a common currency for politicians. Trump was never a politician. An elected official, but not politician. But hubris also accompanies celebrity. Trump was always a celebrity first -- his embrace of the MAGA movement -- indeed naming it -- was convenient, primarily to advance his celebrity. Yet Trump began to embrace the movement, beyond cynical opportunism, where many of us witnessed a sincere conversion. Why couldn’t he shed, or at least trim enough incendiary vanity to disarm his detractors, and reverse the axiom “win little lose big” for his faithful?

Yes, he was unable to shake the desire for adoration -- the fatal defect of all celebrities. Thus, Trump torpedoed the cause that initially he seized for his own gain, soon fully smitten by its enduring allure -- liberty, unbounded economic freedom, earned self-esteem -- but in the end couldn’t navigate an embedded establishmentarian distaste and contempt for MAGA and everyone associated with it.

In the political world, Trump’s 50,000-watt voice for the dispossessed has been marginalized and silenced by establishmentarians who have prospered under globalist economics while trafficking jobs, and factories to China, and who have normalized lawlessness and perversion.

Those same establishmentarians have now confirmed their contempt and disdain for 75 million Americans whose voting rights were swept away with no explanation, let alone recourse, with fundamental rights now muffled and abridged.

And so, the dispossessed have returned home to face more Democrat tyranny, hollowed-out small cities and towns -- where thousands of storefronts remain abandoned, job losses are mounting, dignity flayed, faith mocked, free speech canceled, scorned and despised, heaped with racist, sexist, and xenophobic epithets.

The deplorables were not wrong to see in Donald Trump their champion to not only petition the government for a redress of grievances, but to set their America right.

But Donald Trump couldn’t help himself from stepping on his own messages, from alienating those people he needed most to install the MAGA policies that wouldn’t be overturned, from failing to cleanse his presidency from insubordinates, leakers, and active saboteurs.

Who else instead of Donald Trump could be both the bearer of hope and vessel of the bitter defeats in the last days? Who else could be the one to lead us out of the wilderness and then back into it? No one.

It didn’t have to end this way but couldn’t end any other way.

Yet Trump’s approval rating is still at 50%.

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump’s job approval rating has plummeted, tying the lowest point of his presidency, following last week’s mob attack on the U.S. Capitol.

In a new Quinnipiac University poll released Monday, 33% of American voters said they approve how Trump is handling his job, a dramatic drop of 11 percentage points since December when 44% said they approved of his job performance. Sixty percent of voters disapprove of his job performance.

It's the lowest mark for Trump since Aug. 2, 2017, when it was also at 33%. That drop came after the Senate rejected Trump's attempt to repeal the Affordable Care Act and Anthony Scaramucci was removed as White House communications director just 10 days into the job.

Sorry but I do not believe any of the polls conducted by traditional polling organizations used by the MSM. IMO they are nothing more than tools to try and sway public opinion, not judge public opinion. I'll stick with polls like Rasmussen, which show his support currently at 49%.

All that proves based on both polls and the most recent events is that he is unelectable.

McCarthy told House Republicans on the two-hour call that Trump accepts some responsibility for the siege, too, Politico reports, citing four GOP sources on the call.

I have absolutely excoriated you through the years, but credit where it's due. You have the capacity for sober, objective, factual analysis.

Ever seen such concern over a lame duck short timer president before? lol

Well he only incited a riot as a lame duck short timer Prez so that created a little concern, he even admits he contributed to it based on McCarthy's conversation with him and you are worried about polls and still cheerleading?

Sad that some people that voted for him and supported him for 4 years can not see the betrayal here, he unleashed a back lash that those same supporters hate and is paying the huge price on. It is ok to admit he betrayed you with his words, that is on him, not on you.

Obama caused Trump. Trump caused Biden.

This circular over reaction is not ending until common sense happens. Trump just needed to be a little smarter and communicate better and none of this would be the case today, Biden would not be in office. Trump's dumb azz mouth is the blame, to support that dumb azz mouth any longer IMO is long-term political suicide.

We need a third party to make common sense enter the conversation.

If you have no concern over lame duck in chief, why you checking his popularity index on Rasmussen? Or do you need that to know if it is still ok to support the loud mouth?

I posted this article because it came from a conservative site. Not all conservatives and certainly not all americans blindly support Trump.

I voted for the man twice but my loyalty is not blind, and the solution for this country is loyalty to what is best for this country and following the constitution and our laws, not towards Biden or Trump, or a political party.

Get em all out, all of them. Trump in the end became part of the swamp, he wanted to maintain power at all costs.

Awwwwwwe. Is Lester Holt going to do this story to close out tonight’s newscast?

Well, maybe we are making progress. I suggest stepping back and doing some soul searching on the DNC as well, I mean that sincerely. Both parties are flaming culture wars, and the MSM and Big Tech is not helping at all.

Which means Jack and Shit at the moment. All he has to do is say it’s my belief this election was stolen from the American and we will spend the next four years exposing this corruption in the courts of justice. In the mean time we will respect the constitutional law and I’ll see you in 2024.

He does that and he insures his legacy instead of destroying it. But if you consider the fact that a life long democrat just ripped apart the GOP and handed the Dems the house, senate, and presidency maybe that was his intention all along.

Trump served his purposed. He reduced Hillary to the dustbin of history. He pulled the plug on some of the ridiculousness of the Soetoro administration. Trump was the banner carrier to kick off active opposition to the dipshits on left. He made some progress, but his effectiveness definitely waned during the last 4 years.

Now that the Democrats and the mouth breathing retards that Drunken Nancy and Schumer enabled have thoroughly exposed themselves, the Republican party needs to make a hard shift away from Trump and toward the future leadership on the hill.

Trump's rhetoric needs to be muted. Him dominating the news cycle with his mouth for the next 4 years will not bode well for Republicans in 2022 and 2024.

OKSTATE1....no doubt your a sharp guy, but you keep saying "he incited a riot," yet if you watch his speech he did no such thing. Is there another version of his speech out there and what exactly did he say that "incited this riot?"

There were flash bangs going off before he was even finished with his speech, which means there were already people in side the capital building. Plus for the people that did walk over to the capital building it is about a 35-45 minute walk.

For anyone that breaks the law, they obviously need to be prosecuted.....but that prosecution should resemble the same punishment for everyone irregardless of political lean or support. If you yourself aren't responsible for your actions who is?

The fathomless hypocrisy on the left is astounding and people that get peeled off their support for Trump because of fear (like that turn nugget Mitten), threats and attempted castigation's really need to stand up and be counted.

An article I found yesterday and is appropriate for this time; https://www.americanthinker.com/art...s_got_hysterical_about_the_capitol_riots.html

I'm definitely not saying "hey they did it, so we should to." What I am saying is keep it in perspective and realize that people should be held accountable for their actions and while some of what Trump has said previously made no sense, he definitely did not utter a group of words that said "hey robots, go break into the capital building so we can take over."

I agree though he self-assassinated along the way and probably ruined any chance of being re-elected or of any of his kids, their siblings or close associates from ever being elected to high office again.

As you said later, both parties are balancing their political futures on what narrative they can get pushed by the media. It is amazing that NOW the national guard has been called out and is protecting so many places in the cesspool that is DC. This is not about actual events, but about convincing people that "this or that can happen" so we much be ready. When they knew something was up, they requested no help (capital police) but now when they don't know about anything happening, they rustle up a giant doses of "ifs" and "unsubstantiated fears."

Do have a question for Hank Johnson though, if PR and DC send 4 senators to DC, could it cause DC to flip over?

Yes he shot himself in the face, foot, balls, you name it.

Never understood what is so hard about simply saying -- "Glad to have you, my supporters, in town for a rally. Have fun, social distance, wear a mask, and tell the people in Congress how you feel. Be peaceful and respectful, make this a moment of unity, respect police lines, let them do their jobs, and give them a head's up about any potential trouble."

I've been bothered by his action for several weeks, but since the idiots in the media and on the left have such pervasive and insidious double standards, I've given him a pass in large part.

Oh, the DNC is the political class and all that entails. Power attracts the worst, and D.C. is also ran by people that generally are overtly seeking power. At the end of the day, people that desire to accumulate political power are likely the last people we want with political power.

I have been weary of the politics of race and gender for years. The dems have picked that low hanging fruit and ignored the biggest demographic in the country. I ask you: what position of the democrats regarding race or gender imperils the bottom line of a publicly traded corporation? None. They have been almost entirely awol on economic issues. Criticisms that both parties are just two sides of the same corporate coin are not lost on me. What you call "culture wars" I call distractions from the big issues this country really faces.

Well, language is interpreted. How it is delivered has meaning. What is porn to one person is not to another. What is viewed as inappropriate to one is not to another. The OPINION of what Trump said as being right or wrong in his speech, it is just that. Just like a juror has to form an opinion based on all the facts of innocence or guilt. Trump may have never intended for what happened to happen, and he might have, we will never know. The power and influence of who he is makes choosing his words that much more important. He knows his voters are very loyal. Each person that decided to riot did so on their own, no doubt. As these criminals are charged, let's see what they say about what motivated them. Trump admitted to McCarthy what he said was harmful, how much more needs to be said? Personally, if Trump came to this conclusion, I think he does so hoping somehow to get back in the good graces of many Republicans. But he still said it and some of you are still debating it.

This is not about left or right for me. I do not know if I am that sharp or not, but I do have an opinion and I always keep open minded.

Tremendous hypocrisy exists between the outrage of Media and Dems over this situation and this summer, no doubt. The fact this was at Capital is mitigating factor, like the article I posted said, Trump took the cheese on what ended up being a trap set-up for him, that he sprung. That does not change or blur my vision of what happened last week. A really great CEO or leader would have seen that escalation in this manner was not a winning strategy, 2 wrongs do not make a right.

If the loud mouth had stuck on point and his policies, and did not brag constantly or take every opportunity possible to stick it to someone he would have been elected instead of serving up a dish of the most liberal shit sandwich possible by the new Prez, new Congress, MSM, and Big Tech, he has empowered them to gain more power in the culture wars by hiding behind being morally right. Oh, and shit on his own legacy and betrayed many voters who thought he was fighting for them and instead wanted to become an entrenched member of the DC swamp. What a dumb azz. If you are angry about the hypocritical blow back from Dems right now? Again, Trump served it up on a platter.

We need a third party, and if Reps continue to have Trump as the leading voice in 2022 and 2024? All I can say is it will get worse for Reps.

I pretty much agree with your here. I give Trump a pass because of the actions of Democrats and the MSM. Never in history has one political party weaponized the entire government against an elected President to get him out of office. Just goes to show you the establishment, swamp or what ever you want to call it is to powerful and fully controls the country. So much for We the People.

Please provide the specific words that incited the riot. I can't seem to find the video of the speech, or its transcript anywhere. It's as though the overlords don't want it to be seen.
